Description
Otherwise commonly known as Cactus Water. It is a red to dark red coloured turbid mobile liquid with a flavour and aroma characteristic of prickly pear.
Now trending across the world and also commonly known as Cactus Water/Juice and Nopal, demand for the plant-based water has increased significantly in the last few years.
Our factory, the largest processor of Prickly Pear in Europe, is based in Sicily where the fruit is naturally grown. This means we have good access to a high quality of fresh fruit with reliable supply.
We work with the 'Opuntia' variety, which is known for its vibrant red colour.

Puree (not from concentrate/NFC) (329106)
To maintain colour and flavour, Prickly Pear is supplied frozen in drums, but can be packed aseptically to assist bottling plant usage, providing it is still stored frozen.
The crop season is from August to October and it is advisable to forecast total volumes required before the season starts.
As well as vitamins and minerals, Prickly Pear is rich in the antioxidants known as betalains, which are known to be good for hydrating and reviving the skin.
Prickly Pear is very eco-friendly and requires very small amounts of water to grow. This is why in some indigenous areas it is a very popular plant where there is a lack of water.
